We are looking for a proactive and resilient HR Advisor to join our HR function during an exciting period of development and change. Reporting to the HR Manager and working as part of a flat-structured team of HR Advisors (with day‑to‑day guidance from the Senior HR Advisor), you will provide dedicated support to a specific business unit and its line managers.
This is a fast‑paced, hands‑on generalist role where you will influence decision‑making, coach managers, and help drive consistency across the wider HR function. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to ongoing projects, support policy updates, and make a real difference to the employee experience.

Your new role

1. Manage short‑term absence and advise managers on next steps.
2. Ensure consistent application of the Absence Management Policy.
3. Lead and supportplex long‑term absence and ill‑health capability cases.
4. Review workplace adjustments/restrictions, with a focus on supporting an ageing workforce.
5. Work closely with the onsite Occupational Health team.
6. Support managers with return to work meetings and follow-up actions.
7. Coach and guide managers through disciplinary and grievance processes.
8. Support conflict resolution, mediation, andplex interpersonal issues.
9. Manage end to end recruitment, from vacancy approval through to onboarding.
10. Support induction and probation processes.
11. Conduct exit interviews and report on trends.
12. Partner with Payroll for accurate alignment of data and actions (no payroll processing)
13. Contribute to HR projects with scope for ownership and innovation.
14. Assist with updating and aligning policies and procedures across the function.
15. Support the modernisation of HR practices and the continuous improvement agenda.


What you'll need to succeed

16. CIPD Level 5 qualified (or equivalent experience).
17. Strong experience in employee relations, especially absence and capability cases.
18. Exposure to a manufacturing or similarly fast-paced environment.
19. Confident influencing, coaching, and challenging constructively.
20. Highly organised with the ability to prioritise a varied caseload.
21. Proactive mindset andfortable working with ambiguity.
22. Apply empathy, problem-solving, and sound judgement to all HR challenges.
23. Influence managers
24. Strong UK Employment Law Knowledge
25. HR project experience or involvement in policy development.
