About the role
The Analytics Capabilities team at Tesco comprises Analytics Product Managers, Data and Business Intelligence Analysts, Software Developers, and Implementation Architects. The team focuses on defining and delivering the self-serve analytics strategy, user behavioural data tracking, and optimisation capabilities. The Analytics Implementation squad within this team designs new analytics implementations and re-implementations to enhance data quality and coverage across core sites, enabling faster and more informed decision-making.
You will be responsible for
* Coding, QA, and configuration of analytics tracking code.
* Implementing changes in TMS (GTM) and supporting advanced platform implementations.
* Integrating data sources via web APIs.
* Following data quality assurance processes, including testing and validation.
* Transferring knowledge of business processes to development teams.
* Collaborating with Product, Engineering, Content, and Marketing teams to gather and translate business requirements into tracking requirements.
You will need
* A degree of 2:1 or higher in a quantitative discipline or relevant experience.
* Experience with Web Technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript; familiarity with Git and Github is desirable.
* Knowledge of tracking implementations for Adobe and Google Analytics 4, including API methods.
* Proficiency in handling APIs, event listeners, and vanilla JavaScript.
* Experience with analytics, data storage, and data processing is a plus.
* Understanding of digital analytics tools, industry practices, and techniques such as AB testing, segmentation, and profiling.
* Experience with SDKs for native mobile app analytics, including requirements, QA, and sign-off processes.
* Strong communication skills to liaise effectively across different teams and levels.
