As a Senior IT Consultant, you will work in an international environment, closely with our client's leadership teams to understand their key challenges, define IT strategies, win buy-in for your recommendations, and collaborate with BCG case team members to transform client potential into performance through high-impact assignments.
You will deploy customized IT strategies, digital platforms, and architecture to leverage the digital potential of our customers using state-of-the-art tools such as cloud computing, AI, blockchain, microservices, and containerization. Responsibilities include managing specific parts of projects, evaluating and coaching clients' technology teams, managing quality and risk, and maintaining client expectations and escalations.
You will develop innovative projects by enabling clients to effectively use agile methods and modern approaches in strategic IT implementation. You will work on various technology topics, applying your technical consulting skills to strategic questions. Support will be provided through extensive training, including technology-specific training and mentoring to enhance your skills.
Additionally, you will guide junior team members, assist with project proposals, client care, building relationships with peers, and identifying new business opportunities.
Minimum Requirements
1. 6 to 10 years' experience in tech strategy, consulting, or IT project management.
2. Experience with the insurance industry.
3. Strong knowledge of core insurance processes and insurance packages like GuideWire, Duck Creek, or DXC.
4. A strategic thinker, entrepreneurial, capable of working creatively and analytically.
5. Outstanding analytical and conceptual skills, strong customer focus, mental agility, and results orientation.
6. Experience in legacy and modern technological environments.
7. Proven track record in Agile consulting, digital, and scale transformations.
8. Experience in IT organization and process development.
9. Ability to organize workshops and facilitate client meetings.
10. Strong business acumen; ability to frame complex problems in business contexts.
11. A university degree in a STEM or business management field with above-average academic performance.
12. Willingness to work outside insurance projects when required.
13. Language requirements vary by location: Fluent in English for London, Dutch desirable for the Netherlands, French or Flemish additional for Belgium.
