We’re seeking an innovative individual to support the Environment Agency’s efforts to reduce water industry pollution through annual Pollution Incident Reduction Plans (PIRPs) and longer-term planning frameworks. Your coordinated management will deliver significant environmental benefits.

You will work with senior managers, legal services, operations, communications, finance, and business planning teams. You should be proactive, communicate effectively, and work independently while maintaining team and customer engagement.

The Team

You will be part of the Water Quality Assets Team within Operation Catchment Services, focusing on collaboration with Defra, water companies, and stakeholders. Our dispersed team collaborates across technical and project teams nationwide. The role offers flexible location options, with some travel and overnight stays possible.

Experience and Skills:

* Knowledge of water quality, environmental legislation, wastewater regulation, and PIRPs.
* Experience in partnership building and stakeholder engagement.
* Ability to articulate business needs and understand sector-specific concepts.
* Self-motivated, collaborative, and result-oriented.
* Problem-solving skills and ability to identify emerging issues.
* Experience working with Defra or other government departments is advantageous.

Competencies:

2. Manage Self: Describe how you organize and prioritize your work.
3. Communicate Effectively: Provide an example of effective communication in a key situation.
