We are seeking a commercially-minded Development Underwriter to join a rapidly expanding Accident & Health (A&H) team that is currently outperforming the market. This is not a "behind-the-desk" technical role. While you will have the technical support of a highly skilled team, your primary mission is growth. You will be the face of the business to the broker market, tasked with expanding a high‑margin portfolio across diverse specialty classes.
Your focus will include:
* Market Expansion: Building and managing a robust broker network and securing new Terms of Business Agreements (TOBAs).
* Driving Volume: Increasing quote flow and conversion rates across niche products like Marine Crew, Aviation (Loss of License), Personal Accident, and International PMI.
* Tech‑Enabled Growth: Leveraging a proprietary, cutting‑edge "quote‑and‑buy" platform to streamline broker self‑service and high‑volume business.
* Strategic Impact: Working directly with senior leadership to define underwriting strategies and identify new market opportunities.
Who You Are:
Professional Requirements:
* Experience: Ideally 7+ years in the insurance market, with a strong background in Accident & Health (A&H), Personal Accident, Sickness, or Travel.
* The Sales Edge: You lean toward the "sales end" of the underwriting spectrum. You have a proven track record of building broker relationships and generating momentum.
* Niche Expertise: Experience in specialist classes such as Marine or Aviation A&H is highly desirable, as is an understanding of MGA structures.
* Mindset: Entrepreneurial, resilient, and charismatic. You are someone who enjoys the challenge of building a brand in a competitive market.
