Job Title: Assistant Educational Psychologist – 2 posts Salary: £35,228 - £39,341 per annum, Soulbury Assistant Educational Psychologist Scale 2-5. 37 Hours per Week Location: County Hall, Worcester Fixed Term Contract 2years The Role: We are looking to recruit highly motivated and passionate Assistant Educational Psychologists to join our Educational Psychology Service (EPS). You will need a good honours degree in psychology along with current knowledge of psychological theory and practice including up to date understanding of child development and experience of how psychology can be applied within educational or community settings. In addition, you will need to have highly developed communication and interpersonal skills along with knowledge of the context in which psychological services, schools and settings work. Worcestershire Children First EPS is fully embedded within Inclusion Support Services and the All Age Disability Directorate and our psychologists have close working relationships with a range of professionals and services working to improve the outcomes for Children and Young people and their families in Worcestershire. In addition to this we deliver on a number of project areas, for example, Emotional Literacy Support Assistants (ELSA). There will be opportunities for the successful candidate to become involved in project areas as well as undertake their primary duties which include: To lead and facilitate Joint Assessment Meetings utilising Person-Centred approaches in the Early Years. To assist in the provision of psychological advice to SEND services on the strengths, needs, outcomes and provision for children and young people. To assist in investigations and assessments (including setting and home-based observations) of the needs of identified children and young people, and to offer consultation and advice as appropriate. To elicit the views of children and young people, and their families as part of the Education, Health and Care assessment process. To work within a multi-agency team to identify interventions and support for children. To model person-centred planning across the service and with key partners, ensuring that outcomes-based assessment is evident in all areas of work with a clear focus on engagement with families, children and young people. You will need: An honours degree in Psychology (or equivalent) recognised by the British Psychological Society.
