V&C Associates have been assigned a significant and exciting remit for a Specialist Travel Manager for a Boutique Travel Agency, focusing on the organisation and management of bespoke cultural, art, and garden-focused tours across Europe. The team works closely with garden societies, alumni associations, and private clients to deliver outstanding travel experiences defined by quality, depth, and professionalism.
The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years’ experience in organising and leading special interest tours to Europe, along with a genuine passion for travel and a strong understanding of the industry.
Required background / experience and key skills
* Proven management experience
* A background in Art History, History, or a strong interest in gardens
* Working knowledge of at least one European language (ideally Italian or Spanish)
* Excellent attention to detail
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Sound judgement, initiative, and creativity
* Ability to manage complex projects, multitask, and prioritise effectively
* Confidence in decision-making under pressure, with diplomacy, patience, and composure
Key Responsibilities
* Team Management & Tour Administration
* Manage and support a small senior team of consultants
* Design, plan, cost, and operate tours
* Source and liaise directly with European suppliers (hotels, restaurants, etc.)
* Collaborate with DMCs in Europe and beyond
* Liaise with US clients, including pitching for new business and preparing client documentation
* Oversee financial accountability for tours and the team
* Write itineraries and promotional materials (InDesign)
* Supervise client bookings and documentation processes (Microsoft, CRM system)
* Provide office-based support when colleagues are abroad
* Book flights (Galileo or similar)
* Oversee website management (WordPress)
