Civils Project Manager - Light Rail - Birmingham - £60k + £7500 car allowance / car after 3 months
The Birmingham Eastside Metro extension to Digbeth will serve the High Speed 2 station at Curzon Street. The 1.7km route is planned to run from Bull Street to a new terminus at High Street Deritend.
You will lead the different discipline teams throughout the project maintaining a 'Best for Alliance' environment.
The role includes the coordination and facilitation of all processes in such a manner that there is minimal impact and disruption on existing operations throughout the project lifecycle. You will have a strong knowledge and background of commercial management of all aspects of the project to ensure that the project is taken into tram operation safely, on time and under budget. You will be responsible for resource planning within the project and ensuring the correct level of resource is available to ensure the project meets key milestones.
Delivery of key elements of the BEE Project in a safe & environmentally responsible manner to time, cost and quality, in accordance with the Alliance Principles.
Agreeing timescales, costs and resources needed to deliver a project
Drawing up a detailed plan for how to achieve each stage of a project
Selecting and leading a project team
Directing a multi-disciplinary Construction and Rail team
Communicating with staff at every level, in a calm, personable way
Overseeing several sections of the projects at the same time
Ensuring that each stage of the project happens on time, on budget and to a high standard
Knowledge of project delivery in a civils environment
Ability to manage project plans, budgets and workforce
Managing several projects sections simultaneously with the support of junior project managers
Experience of managing multi-disciplinary project teams
Experience of delivering within an effective safety culture in a high risk environment
Qualifications
Relevant Degree
Recognised Project Management qualification.
Membership (or working towards membership) of the Association for Project Management or other professional body
* Salary - up to 60k per annum depending on experience
* Car Allowance of £7,500, can change for company car after approx. 3 months
