About the Role
Camera Revolution is seeking a practical, detail-driven Engineering Assistant to join our engineering department at Shepperton Studios.
This is a hands-on position for a recent graduate or early-career engineer who’s passionate about designing, building, and testing real-world mechanical and electronic systems. You’ll assist in the assembly, maintenance, and development of innovative products used in professional motion and camera systems, with opportunities to grow into CAD and R&D work as your skills develop.

Key Responsibilities
• Assist with assembly and testing of products using technical drawings and written procedures.
• Help maintain and prepare workshop tools, parts, and machinery to a high standard.
• Operate 3D printers, CNC machinery, and laser engravers for prototyping and production.
• Support stock management of fasteners, components, and consumables.
• Contribute to light design work in SolidWorks and assist with CAM software.
• Follow set procedures and assembly instructions precisely.
• Support small-scale engineering projects under supervision.
• Aid with packing, logistics, and shipping of engineering products.
• Occasionally assist with off-site test days or events.
Requirements
• Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic, Robotics, or a related engineering discipline.
• Full UK driving licence.
• A practical, hands-on approach with strong attention to detail.
• Basic understanding of mechanical systems, wiring, and electronics.
• Familiarity with SolidWorks, CAM, and 3D printing software.
• Confident using hand tools, soldering equipment, and workshop machinery.
• Understanding of tolerances, GD&T, and manufacturing drawings.
• Good organizational and data management skills.
• Ability to follow procedures accurately and think critically when needed.
• Comfortable working on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Positive, proactive attitude and a genuine willingness to learn.
Desirable
• Experience with CNC routing, laser engraving, or additive manufacturing.
• Knowledge of control systems, sensors, or motor control.
• Exposure to microcontrollers or basic coding (e.g. Arduino, Raspberry Pi).
• Previous hands-on projects such as Formula Student, robotics, or personal builds.

Working Hours
• 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with occasional out-of-hours work for testing or events.
• Full-time, on-site at Shepperton Studios.
