Health Care Assistant Support Worker Support Horizons is a not-for-profit organisation enabling adults with learning difficulties to live actively in the communities of Wokingham, Reading and Bracknell. We strive to ensure our clients are living their best lives Why not join us and turn a job into a career that matters? What is aSupport Worker ? As a Support Worker you will be a key member of our team, providing high standards of person-centred support to our service users. Through a creative and caring approach, you will build good relationships with both service users and their families. You will assist a small number of regular clients on a one to one basis, usually for a few hours at a time, accompanying them out and about including leisure activities, appointments, daily chores and shopping. For these purposes it is essential that you can drive and have your own transport (mileage is paid at 45p per mile). Our Health Care Assistants provide personal care either in clients homes or within residential care settings. This is anextremely rewarding role, supporting vulnerable adults with day to day living, giving them the best possible quality of life. In most cases care assistants support clients who require 24 hour care. Shifts can be from 1 to 24 hours, including sleep-ins. It is a necessity of this role that you are able to travel to clients in the community or between residential settings, therefore it is desirable that you are able to drive and have your own transport. Unlike the Support Worker role there will be a requirement to carry out personal care and assistants will largely work in the clients home rather than out in the community. For both positions Experience is not essential, providing you have a willingness to learn, the compassion and patience needed to support. We offerfull training and opportunities to progress to NVQ Levels, equally we welcome applicants with previous experience and/or health care qualifications. If you are enthusiastic and would like to develop a rewarding career helping adults with additional needs in a stimulating environment, we are waiting to hear from you. Where possible we offer flexible hours, full or part time positions are available. Starting salary from the equivalent of £21,670 for a full-time role, enhanced pay outside core hours, including weekends and bank holidays. Employers pension and holiday pay. Applicants must be over 18 with the willingness and ability to travel in line with business requirements. Support Horizons is committed to safeguarding and will pay for a DBS check for all successful applicants.
