Head of Finance
* Annual Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 per annum depending on experience
* Location: Sutton (3 days remote / 2 days in the office)
* Job Type: Full-time
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Finance to oversee our client’s finance teams responsible for accounts payable, receivable, and expenses. This pivotal role involves managing capital finances and all reporting on capital for the organisation. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing transactional teams, developing high-quality services, and designing efficient systems and processes.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Lead and manage the finance teams, ensuring ledgers are closed and reconciled monthly to meet management account deadlines.
* Oversee the capital finances, including maintaining records for annual allocation of all income related to capital funding.
* Report directly to the Director of Finance, ensuring accuracy of financial information and maintaining internal controls.
* Support the audit processes and manage the financial transaction teams' balance sheet control accounts.
* Develop and implement new systems to enhance efficiency, particularly in supplier automation.
* Maintain regular communication with the Senior Finance Management Team to ensure alignment and coherence across departments.
* Deputise for the Director of Finance as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Proven experience in a similar role.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive change and manage multiple teams.
* Robust knowledge of financial policies, planning, and strong influencing skills.
* Experience with financial systems administration and month-end processes.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to offer creative and innovative solutions.
* Familiarity with HMRC regulations, ESFA, and other funding bodies.
* Proficient in managing capital projects and fixed assets.
