Job Overview

This post is fixed term / secondment until 31/03/2026 due to funding.

The post holder will be practising as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) within their designated area in order to provide patient centred quality care. The role will encompass the skills of assessment, examination, diagnosis and treatment within an agreed scope of practice within the Women's Health Hub. The post holder will assist in the safe treatment, referral and discharge of patients. They will communicate and work collaboratively with the medical team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures, and providing nurse leadership as required.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job
Use specialist knowledge and skills to provide health care independently to patients in liaison with the management and consultant team.

Manage patients who present with undifferentiated and undiagnosed illness within the Women's Health Hub.

Act as a role model delivering advanced practice and promoting clinical effectiveness, working closely with the interdisciplinary teams to ensure that high quality care is maintained.

Undertake audits within the Women's Health Hub setting to develop the evidence base.

Provide formal and informal teaching, support and clinical supervision to nursing staff, junior medical staff, Physicians Associates (PAs) and the wider workforce including students.

Provide clinical leadership, ensuring specialist knowledge and skills are conveyed to all nursing and medical staff when appropriate to facilitate the effective delivery of care to patients at all times.

Support the medical team by triaging GP referrals and providing initial assessment

Support the wider team to maintain the Women's Hub performance, including triage / initial assessment.

Lead, develop and professionally line manage Therapies and the Women's Hub nursing staff

* BSc/ Grad Dip in relevant discipline
* Master level education or equivalent; e.g. Advanced clinical practice
* Evidence of CPD and post registration activity through portfolio
* Extended scope skills i.e. independent prescriber

* Membership of clinical interest group

Experience
Essential criteria

* Extensive experience in clinical field
* Experience of management of people /resources
* Experience of service development or project management
* Involvement in research & Development Projects
* Experience of developing protocols & clinical care pathways
* Experience of working in an MDT setting
* Evidence of delivering clinical education

* Formal Research education

* Advanced clinical reasoning skills
