Overview
For you, that will mean planning and implementing the kind of care that will give our residents a real sense of security, dignity and independence. You will get to know our residents and their families, helping to ensure we deliver truly personalised care plans. You will lead a team of Care Assistants and be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of care, acting as a positive influence on the rest of the team. Whether you are showing someone how to use a walking frame, helping someone at the end of their life to eat a meal or talking to a resident's family on the phone, you will do so with kindness as the priority. You will assist the Registered Nurse and Care Manager and be involved in providing essential physical and mental stimulation through a range of social and recreational activities, as well as administering medication.
Responsibilities
* Lead a team of Care Assistants and maintain the highest standards of care.
* Support residents and families to ensure personalised care plans.
* Provide care tasks such as mobility support, mealtimes, and end-of-life care as required.
* Assist the Registered Nurse and Care Manager with providing physical and mental stimulation through activities.
* Administer medication as part of the care team.
Qualifications
* Level 2 Diploma in Adult Care (or NVQ) and prepared to work towards Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
* Background in person-centred care planning and knowledge of caring for people with dementia.
* Essential: brilliant positive energy and ability to get along with people; good record keeping; effective time management; kindness and consideration in communication with residents and co-workers.
* Safeguarding awareness and training appropriate to the role; ability to seek appropriate advice and report concerns.
