We are recruiting for a Contract Senior/Principal Infrastructure Engineer to join our client's Manchester office on a full-time hybrid basis. The role is within a team of drainage and development infrastructure specialists.

The role:
* Providing support in the delivery of concept studies/strategies with hands-on design, leading to planning applications, technical approval submissions, and construction drawing issuance.
* Contributing to various development projects across sectors and clients.
* Managing multiple multidisciplinary project/client accounts simultaneously.
* Supporting and guiding a team of experienced technical staff.
* Engaging with clients, stakeholders, and design teams (internal and external), and managing projects to meet budget, schedule, and technical standards.
What you need to succeed:
* Experience in highway design, drainage, flood risk assessment, utility design, and a good understanding of the development industry.
* Knowledge of hydraulics, hydrology, geotechnics, and construction design stages is desirable.
* Ability to produce infrastructure masterplans, site appraisals, technical reports, design calculations, and drawings.
* Familiarity with relevant design codes such as Water UK Sewerage Sector Guidance, Design Manual for Roads & Bridges, Manual for Streets, and local authority guidance.
* Strong communication skills and awareness of current technical and planning guidance on climate change and sustainability.
* Proficiency in relevant software like InfoDrainage and Civils 3D.
* Experience liaising with clients, authorities, and design teams to obtain approvals and statutory agreements.
* Knowledge of legal processes, planning, design, and contract procedures related to development projects.
* Understanding of financial and contractual aspects of project delivery.
* Postgraduate experience or nearing Chartership, with substantial professional responsibility.
