Role Overview We are seeking a proactive and hands-on House & Garden Maintenance Manager to oversee the upkeep of a beautiful five-bedroom family home with extensive gardens in Bowdon, Cheshire. You will work closely with the housekeeper to ensure the property and grounds remain immaculate, welcoming, and fully operational all year-round making the role your own and adapting it as required. Key Responsibilities General Upkeep: Maintain the interior and exterior of the home to a high standard. Keep the gardens neat, tidy, and seasonally appropriate with fresh planting and ongoing care.An understanding of where to plant certain flowers and when to plant them is essential. Managing Maintenance Schedules: Develop and manage preventative maintenance plans for household systems such as plumbing, electrical and appliances. Monitor and log routine maintenance to ensure smooth running of the property. Coordinating Repairs & Renovations: Source quotes, schedule, and supervise external contractors when required. Ensure work is completed to a high standard, on time, and with minimal disruption. DIY & Small Repairs: Carry out minor repairs and improvements around the house and garden independently. Basic plumbing, painting, DIY, and troubleshooting tasks expected. Budget & Procurement: Manage a maintenance budget and keep track of expenditure. Order necessary parts, tools, and supplies in a cost-effective manner. Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving: Quickly identify and resolve issues related to household systems or garden maintenance before they escalate. Candidate Requirements Minimum 4 years experience in a similar role within a private household. Strong hands-on skills with the ability to tackle a variety of DIY and maintenance tasks. Comfortable working independently and alongside household staff. Proven experience managing contractors and overseeing home projects. Excellent organisational and time management skills. Keen eye for presentation, especially in maintaining gardens and outdoor areas. Must be a driver with your own car this is essential due to the location and nature of the role.
