As Knowledge and Networks Manager at IChemE, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our mission to Engineer a Sustainable World. You will lead the development and delivery of world-class knowledge resources and vibrant technical communities that empower chemical, biochemical, and process engineers to tackle global challenges.

Position:
You are a driven, experienced professional with a robust background in chemical, biochemical, or process engineering. Qualified to at least Masters level, you have a proven ability to build and manage technical networks, deliver impactful knowledge resources, and engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels. A proactive leader, you are passionate about technical and professional development, and committed to advancing the chemical engineering profession.

Requirements:
* Grow and engage technical networks: provide world-class support to build inclusive, future-focused communities that reflect the breadth of chemical engineering, enabling collaboration and knowledge exchange across all sectors and career stages.
* Expand access to knowledge: oversee the creation, curation, and dissemination of high-quality, accessible resources—including reports, webinars, and technical content. Lead the development of a new online resource library to increase the visibility and use of our knowledge assets.
* Strengthen the Learned Society function: drive continuous improvement in how IChemE develops and shares knowledge, celebrates excellence, and aligns with global best practices.
* Grow IChemE's voice: collaborate with stakeholders to ensure our technical expertise informs policy, innovation, and public understanding. Champion engagement with IChemE's medals and prizes to celebrate global excellence.
* Support sustainable membership growth: ensure technical networks and knowledge resources are relevant, inclusive, and impactful—empowering members to contribute meaningfully to societal challenges and professional standards.
You'll also line manage a small team of chemical engineering professionals and have budget responsibility of approximately £250,000.

Other information:
This is a full-time, 12 month fixed term contract opportunity (37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday), based at our IChemE offices in Rugby. You'll enjoy a varied role with the chance to travel and attend key events across the UK, working at the heart of a vibrant professional community.
As an international organisation, IChemE's activities span multiple time zones and cultural contexts. You must be willing to travel and participate in events outside standard working hours, and liaise with global colleagues to meet strategic goals.
Starting salary will be circa £48,000 per annum, grade E (depending on experience) plus benefits which includes an excellent pension scheme.
