Exciting, developing Aquatics department require a full time Aquarist near Windsor, Bucks-Berks border. This is a temporary role for 3 months, with the possibility of a permanent position for the right candidate.

Full time Aquarist with background in retail OR private keeping required for hotel with exclusive and diverse array of rare exquisite marine, freshwater and tropical tanks, Koi also kept so an interest or prior knowledge in this sphere is also beneficial but not essential.

The ideal candidate will have a background in keeping a range of systems and be competent in completing all tank maintenance tasks to a meticulously high standard along with daily water testing, record keeping, quarantine protocols and life support system maintenance. The collection is experiencing further growth, opening up this new position within an established, dynamic team.

Job Summary:
We are seeking an Aquarist to join our team. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in aquatic animal care and exhibit maintenance.

Duties:

* Assist in the daily care and maintenance of tropical marine fish & reef systems and their habitats & life support systems
* Assist in the daily care and maintenance of tropical & cold water freshwater fish and their habitats & life support systems.
* Monitor water quality parameters and assist with water quality testing
* Prepare and feed diets to various aquatic species
* Participate in exhibit design and set-up
* Maintain cleanliness and organization within the aquatics department

Experience:
Skills required include the ability to effectively time manage, self motivate and problem solve, these key skills along with an excellent work ethic and genuine care for aquatic life is of primary importance, formal qualifications are secondary to industry experience.

Attention to detail is essential and aquariums are expected to be maintained to a high standard of cleanliness, including the external viewing areas & off show areas.

We operate a 5 day in 7 rota & weekend work is required on a rotational basis.
