Job Description
We are seeking a senior geotechnical engineer or senior engineering geologist to join our Ground Engineering team in Bristol. This role supports a wide range of projects, from national grid upgrades to high‑speed rail, hydraulics, and offshore facilities.

Responsibilities
* Lead day‑to‑day project delivery, ensuring technical quality, budget adherence, and programme milestones.
* Provide expertise in technical review meetings, owning decisions and proposing alternative ideas.
* Maintain client satisfaction and develop fee proposals for internal and external clients.
* Own personal and professional development and mentor junior staff.
* Apply geotechnical design from desk study through ground investigation, interpretation, and final design, including specifications, construction drawings, and design reports.
Qualifications
* BEng / MEng in Civil Engineering or BSc / MSc in Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology.
* Chartered Engineer (IEng/CEng) or Geologist (CGeol) status is preferred or on track to achieve within the next year.
* Strong knowledge of UK ground conditions, investigation practices, and current design codes.
* Demonstrated experience in geotechnical design for earthworks, foundations, retaining structures, and slope stabilisation.
* Experience with data management software (e.g., gINT, Open Ground) is advantageous.
* Well‑rounded experience in geotechnical analysis and design packages, including drawings, risk assessments, specifications, and design reports.
* Familiarity with CDM Regulations, Safety in Design, and specialised field standards (e.g., highways, railways) is desirable.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to write clear technical reports and present confidently in person or remotely.
* Clean driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the UK.
