Clinical Support Worker – Higher Level – Copeland Unit
North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for the Clinical Support Worker – Higher Level role within the Copeland Unit.
Overview
This Band 3 role offers a 36‑hour, 12‑hour shift pattern (6:45‑19:15 and 18:45‑7:15) within the Community setting of the Copeland Unit at West Cumberland Hospital. It supports patients with complex needs, working largely independently while carrying out delegated nursing duties under the direction of a registered health care professional.
Key Responsibilities
* Support patients with medication, personal hygiene and activities of daily living.
* Carry out delegated nursing observations, record patient information and maintain associated records.
* Assess patients, plan and implement care in the community, provide advice and education to patients, carers and colleagues.
* Carry out delegated management tasks, including line management of team members.
* Support prevention of hospital admission, facilitate hospital discharge and promote independence through reablement and long‑term condition management.
* Work flexible hours to meet patient needs, including working 12‑hour shifts and rotating time.
Qualifications & Eligibility
* Essential criteria: relevant background in nursing or social care, ability to work independently and willingness to undertake DBS checks.
* Desirable: prior experience in community nursing, knowledge of NHS clinical standards and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
* Applicants with a Health & Care visa or Skilled Worker visa must meet salary threshold requirements per UKVI guidelines.
