The Borgen Project is an international organization working to reduce global poverty by influencing foreign policy in the US and UK. With 20 years of advocacy experience, it has supported legislation benefiting nearly 500 million people in developing countries.
Regional Director
You will serve as a Borgen Project Ambassador in your city, mobilizing your community to contact government officials and support poverty reduction legislation. This role does not require lobbying experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Meet with local government leaders and advocate for legislation that improves conditions for the poor.
* Mobilize community members to contact their representatives about poverty reduction.
* Manage fundraising campaigns.
* Build and maintain a network of engaged supporters.
* Represent The Borgen Project as a city ambassador.
Qualifications
* Basic understanding of politics and international development.
* Highly organized with excellent time management skills.
* Team player with innovative ideas.
* Decisive with independent judgment.
* Excellent communication skills (oral, written, presentation).
Location: U.S., U.K., and Canada
Salary: Unpaid
Duration: 6 months
Hours: 4-6 hours per week
Start Date: Flexible; start any month you choose
