Taylor Woodrow is recruiting for a Commercial Manager to join our northern regional business. Reporting to the Business Unit Director, the Commercial Manager will be responsible for leading on commercial activities across a portfolio of projects in the West Midlands. Our regional projects are typically city centre regeneration schemes or junction improvements with values of £2m-£15m.
Duties
* Lead a team of commercial staff working across a portfolio of civils infrastructure projects.
* Actively participate in the implementation of project commercial start up procedures.
* Prepare the basis of the project procurement schedule and ensure the team contribute and complete their relevant sections. Ensure the delivery of subcontract procurement in accordance with the procurement schedule timetable and the VINCI procurement policy.
* Work with supply chain to promote and measure continuous improvement in terms of cost, quality and learning of all parties.
* Maximise cash flow through timely preparation of valuations, submission of invoices and receipt of payment.
* Manage prompt preparation and settlement of final accounts, including variations, claims and disputes.
* Monitor and manage subcontract costs to ensure that the project meets and / or exceeds targets.
* Monitor resources and costs to ensure that the project meets and/or exceeds targets.
* Produce accurate and timely CVR reports and forecasts and contribute toward the setting of financial targets.
* Establish and maintain accurate and robust reporting structures and monitor resources and costs.
* Ensure that the cost (time, and money) of all client “Change” is recovered.
* Carry out early value engineering activities as part of the project team, ensuring all associated costs of change are included within the evaluation.
Person Specification
* Formal qualification in a quantity surveying
* Thorough understanding of NEC contracts is essential.
* Experience in delivering a portfolio of infrastructure projects from start to finish.
