Role Overview
The organisation is seeking an accomplished Senior IT Consultant with extensive expertise in cloud and infrastructure management, IT operations, and digital transformation initiatives. This position encompasses designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise IT solutions, leading technical teams, and upholding high standards of service delivery and security compliance.
Key Responsibilities
· Oversee and execute end-to-end cloud and infrastructure projects, including Azure migrations, private and hybrid cloud deployments, and modernisation of data centres.
· Architect, deploy, and manage virtualisation platforms (VMware vSphere, VxRail, Citrix) and enterprise storage systems (Dell, IBM).
· Supervise Office 365 and Exchange migrations, tenant-to-tenant integrations, and hybrid IT environments.
· Manage and secure Windows and Linux server infrastructures, encompassing Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy Objects, patching, and group administration.
· Implement and sustain IT security measures, notably including Mimecast, Sophos, Meraki, vulnerability management, and compliance audits.
· Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and share knowledge across cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
· Conduct root cause analysis, optimise system performance, and troubleshoot complex IT issues in both cloud and on-premises settings.
· Develop and deliver comprehensive technical documentation, project plans, and solution proposals for management review.
· Drive continuous improvement efforts, cost optimisation, and adoption of best practices within IT operations.
Essential Skills & Experience
· At least 12 years' experience in IT consulting, infrastructure management, and cloud computing.
· Profound understanding of Azure (IaaS, PaaS, networking, automation), Office 365, and networking concepts.
· Advanced proficiency with VMware vSphere, VxRail, Citrix, and enterprise storage technologies.
· Strong scripting and automation capabilities.
· Familiarity with security frameworks, compliance standards (Cyber Essentials Plus), enterprise backup solutions such as Veeam, SCCM, and network monitoring tools.
· Experience supporting and testing LANs, VLANs, WLANs, VPNs, and NAT devices.
· Skilled in installing and troubleshooting SQL Servers, wireless networks, and VOIP systems.
· Proficient in providing application support for both QA and production environments.
· Able to support and manage all on-premise and cloud network infrastructure services, including WAN, LAN, wireless, internet, network security, cloud networking, and network monitoring.
· Responsible for performing regular and scheduled maintenance activities across all networking and Linux services.
· Excellent communication, client-facing, and stakeholder engagement skills.
· Proven ability to lead technical teams and deliver projects within established timeframes and budgets.
Qualifications & Certifications
· Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
· Additional certifications in Microsoft, VMware, and Security are highly desirable.
