We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in North Yorkshire to assist with the appointment of an Account Manager, on a 2-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £18.20 - £23.07 per hour
Summary:
North Yorkshire Council is seeking experienced Account Managers to support its in-house Communications Unit. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a wide variety of accounts across sectors such as leisure, culture, housing, and infrastructure. The role requires strategic thinkers who can manage and deliver impactful communications and marketing services, helping drive digital engagement and effective public communication.
Responsibilities:
* Manage a portfolio of internal and external accounts across diverse sectors, including housing, cultural venues, and behavioural change campaigns.
* Act as the main point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring clear, consistent, and proactive communication.
* Develop and implement effective communication strategies that align with council goals, particularly in supporting channel shift toward online services.
* Coordinate with creative teams for editorial content, branding, design, video production, and campaign delivery.
* Provide support in media relations, including press release drafting, crisis communications, and media training.
Qualifications:
* Degree or equivalent in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
* Relevant certifications in media relations, social media governance, or project management (desirable).
Experience:
* Proven experience in an account management role, preferably within the public sector or agency environment.
