Chief Rigger – South

Role Overview: The Chief has full responsibility in the Rigging team to deliver preventative maintenance across a wide range of structures. You are the Senior Rigger and have full responsibility for the resources working with you on site.
Role Requirements
* Create planned work documents to ensure work is undertaken on time and in a safe manner.
* Develop risk assessments and method statements, ensuring these are approved by relevant stakeholders.
* Act as a supervisory capacity to oversee all safety aspects of work carried out on site.
* Point of contact for safety and all rigging works in the Region.
* Support Rigging Project Manager and Airwork’s Manager.
* Maintain all rigging equipment operational and updated.
* Responsible for ongoing technical/personal development of the Rigging team.
* Encourage cross-skilling of other Field Ops activities.
* Drive a culture of continuous improvement.
* Provide specialist advice and guidance to other teams.
* Maintain accurate records, documentation and reporting.
* Deliver bundled activities with skill set efficiency.
* Complete preventative and corrective maintenance on mast and tower infrastructure.
* Operate winch systems to support work on tall structures up to 300m.
* Respond to faults and technical issues, emergency call out support.
* Perform support structure inspections and report findings.
* Provide supervision to 3rd parties accessing specific sites.
Additional Responsibilities
* Deliver all planned preventive maintenance on top 100 sites.
* Collaborate with structural engineers to ensure safe work and structural integrity.
* Repair and defect correction during engineer inspections.
* Request and conduct complex planned works for engineer inspections.
* Create site-specific RAMS.
* Categorise faults and associated risks.
* Prepare detailed reports including sketches.
Required Expertise
* Extensive knowledge of Safety, Health and Environment legislation, standards and practices.
* Extensive knowledge of mast and tower maintenance procedures and technical processes.
* Experience working with 3rd party contractors, ensuring standards and specifications.
* Experience working at height.
