Summary of the Position: The Formulation Scientist will support new product development, reformulation, and process improvements for various projects from ideation to commercialization under the guidance of the Formulations/Tech Transfer Director. This role collaborates with operations, quality, business teams, and other partners, providing product and process development support for new product launches and quality/cost improvement initiatives.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Formulate moderately complex new products including soft chews, powders, tablets, capsules, pellets, and liquids.
2. Conduct bench trials, physical evaluations, and data collection to support product development.
3. Assist PD staff in preparing and executing pilot and scale-up batches, gathering data for process parameters and specifications.
4. Supervise product development technicians in data collection and analysis.
5. Develop formulations for early-stage and clinical batches.
6. Collaborate on new equipment development and studies to enhance manufacturing processes and formulations.
7. Prepare and approve Master Batch Records and Change Control Requests for scale-up and production batches.
8. Adhere to cGMP processes.
9. Compile and summarize stability data.
10. Provide technical support to manufacturing and monitor initial production batches.
11. Train manufacturing staff on new processes and modifications.
12. Engage in continuous education through expos and conferences to stay updated.
13. Communicate effectively across departments and work within a team environment.
14. Maintain regular attendance.
15. Perform additional duties as required to meet company objectives.
