SEN Teaching Assistant
Prospero Teaching are working in partnership with a specialist primary school in Dibden, Southampton, which supports pupils aged 4-11 with Autism and associated complex needs. The school is seeking passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistants to support its growing cohort of pupils.

Contract Details:
1. Location: Dibden, Southampton
2. Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
3. Type of Work: Classroom and 1:1 support for pupils with Autism
4. Contract or Position Start Date: September 2025
5. Duration / Likely Duration: Temp to Perm
6. Contract Type: Temp to Perm
7. Full Time/Part Time: Full time
8. Minimum Rate of Pay: From £ (actual pay based on experience)
9. Hours:
The successful candidate will:
10. Support children with Autism and additional complex needs
11. Assist with preparing learning materials and delivering engaging activities
12. Offer emotional, behavioural and academic support both in and out of the classroom
13. Supervise pupils during structured and unstructured times, including outdoor learning and off-site visits
14. Promote independence, confidence and positive relationships
15. Be calm, patient, adaptable and resilient in their approach
16. Thrive as part of a team-focused and child-centred environment
Experience, Training and Qualifications:
17. Educated to GCSE grade C/4 or above in English, Maths and Science
18. Experience supporting children with Autism or additional needs is highly desirable
19. Willingness to take part in physical activities, outdoor learning, and team teaching
20. Up-to-date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (or willingness to complete)
Eligibility:
21. Hold Right to Work in the UK
22. Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online Update Service or be willing to process a new application
23. Provide two professional, child-related references
