Supervising Social Worker - Kinship & Permanence Team, BRIDGEND COUNTY BOROUGH COUNCIL
37 hours per week.
Due to internal promotion and continued expansion, an exciting opportunity has arisen for full-time Supervising Social Workers within the Kinship & Permanence Team.
In Bridgend County Borough Council we aim to ensure that Kinship Carers are recognised as professionals and they are actively involved when decisions are being made about children in their care. We strive to provide Kinship Carers with the right support at the right time to enable the children and young people in their care to achieve the best possible outcomes. We co‑produce our service with Kinship Carers to ensure it reflects their needs.
As a Supervising Social Worker, you will:
* Conduct comprehensive, evidence‑based Connected Persons and Special Guardianship assessments of kinship carers.
* Provide support through reflective supervision, Annual Reviews, and learning and development opportunities.
* Collaborate with Kinship carers, Children and Families, and other professionals involved in the child’s care.
* Be organised, prioritise work to meet timescales and communicate effectively.
* Support the General Fostering Team, sit in Duty, participate in Recruitment and Retention activities, sit on the Foster Panel and participate in Team Meetings and Development Days.
Support and development:
* Robust induction, regular reflective supervision, varied training opportunities, additional support and mentoring.
Additional requirements:
* Ability to greet customers in Welsh.
* Enhanced Children and Adults Barred List criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS).
* Valid driving licence.
* Hybrid Working Policy applies.
