Mechanical Design Engineer

This role offers the opportunity to be involved in the full product development lifecycle – from initial concept and prototyping through to testing and final production. Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical Design Engineer:
* Lead or contribute to mechanical design projects from concept through to manufacture
* Develop detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using 3D CAD
* Produce and maintain BOMs, technical documentation, and assembly instructions
* Design for manufacture using a range of techniques including sheet metal fabrication and CNC machining
* Perform stress analysis, tolerance stack-ups, and materials selection
* Liaise with suppliers and production teams to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness
* Participate in prototype builds, testing, and validation activities
What We’re Looking For in a Mechanical Design Engineer:
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
* Proven experience in 3D CAD
* Strong understanding of DFM/DFA principles and manufacturing processes
* Experience with complex electromechanical assemblies
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced SME environment and wearing multiple hats
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
