About the role
* Manage a range of client accounts, operations, and mobile based engineers
* Assist and coordinate the helpdesk team with engineer productivity, ensuring engineers work most efficiently
* Undertake monthly site audits to monitor standards of quality and health and safety
* Assist the helpdesk team with holiday planning, absence management and out of hours call‑out rotas
* Undertake contract performance reviews with the Commercial Manager
* Ensure that toolbox talks and engineering meetings are held each month
* Provide management support and mentoring to the operations team
* Update and provide contract reports
* Oversee contract invoicing requirements
* Maintain and monitor client service levels against agreed SLAs
* Deal with customer complaints in accordance with the Company’s procedures
* Prepare customer quotations including sourcing subcontractor and supplier costings
* Enhance team results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring and appraising job results
* Coach, counsel, and use the company disciplinary process when required
* Recruit, induct and nurture new employees
* Responsibility for financial objectives and targets
* Provide information needed for budget preparation
* Monitor costs and job profitability
* Maintain safety, quality & environmental standards across all operations within reasonable time scales
* Ensure personnel within the team have received necessary training, information and instruction and are competent to carry out tasks safely
About you
Having succeeded in a similar role you will be proactive, self‑motivated, work well both independently and as part of the wider team, and be able to build and maintain relationships across the organisation and with our customers. Ideally you will be located in Hull or the East Yorkshire area.
Essential qualifications and experience
* Previous experience of managing a service delivery team, ideally within the M&E / HVAC engineering field
* Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of staff and clients
* Ability to manage and prioritise a demanding and varying workload
* Ability to deliver projects on time and on budget
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
* City and Guilds NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical services – Electrical Installation
* City and Guilds 2330 Electrotechnical Technology
* 18th Edition IEE Regulations
* AM2 Practical Examination
* 2391 Inspection, Testing and Certification of electrical installations
* Full UK driving licence
Remuneration
* Permanent position, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week (08:00 am – 17:00 pm)
* Starting salary from £50,000 depending on experience
