Job Introduction
We are looking for a Quality Technologist to complete, coordinate, and drive activities to ensure that technical and site improvement plans linked to product quality and food safety progress smoothly. The role involves supporting Technical and other site teams in delivering the Quarry Kitchen development strategy as well as managing day-to-day operations.
Role Responsibilities
Key Accountabilities
* Review consumer feedback cross-functionally and implement continuous improvement plans.
* Respond promptly to consumer feedback using the red flag system.
* Create action plans based on consumer feedback to drive ongoing improvements.
* Assist in near-miss investigations and develop associated improvement plans, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
* Lead consistency panels—planning, managing, and reporting results.
* Develop improvement plans from consistency panel outcomes.
* Support Technical Management (TM & QAM) with the New Machinery release process.
* Follow up on technical actions, including equipment setup and commissioning when necessary.
* Support cross-functional technical projects from implementation to review and follow-up, ensuring timely management and documentation of actions.
* Lead/support quality and food safety projects, including planning, implementation, and review.
* Conduct process audits and implement corrective action plans.
* Perform trials as needed and follow up on outcomes with recommended next steps.
* Liaise with external organizations (e.g., equipment suppliers, EHO, TSO) when required.
* Support and lead investigations into internal rejections and food safety/quality incidents, including root cause analysis and follow-up.
* Support the implementation and maintenance of a QA approach within operations teams.
* Participate in internal standards audits and provide coaching and training to ensure compliance with technical standards.
* Support validation work and develop documentation aligned with QMS standards.
* Assist the Technical Team with workload as needed.
General
* Facilitate/support BRC audits and other third-party audits to achieve successful BRCGS AA grade; assist with closing non-conformances.
* Coordinate and deliver technical training across the business to embed new procedures.
* Provide coverage for other technical team members and deputize for TM or QAM when required.
* Maintain document control of role-related documents and support other document control activities as needed.
Other Duties
* Work within company policies, introducing procedures where appropriate in line with technical documentation requirements.
* Adhere to health and safety policies to ensure personal and staff safety.
* Participate in overall business management and cross-functional projects.
The Ideal Candidate
Experience
* Experience in a quality role within a BRC A grade accredited chilled food organization.
* Experience in writing and implementing quality management procedures and risk assessments.
* Experience in training and embedding new working methods.
Qualifications
* Degree in Food Science or Technology (or similar).
* Food Safety and HACCP qualifications.
