Overview
Our client, a leading provider of marine engineering training, is currently seeking a Technical Training Instructor with Pipefitter experience to join their team in Gosport. This is a unique opportunity for experienced professionals to mentor the next generation of engineers, leveraging career expertise without prior teaching experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide training on how to fit pipework on ships from a drawing (Fit from design)
* Teach brazing techniques
* Maintain strong collaboration within the business
* Support trainee development through assessment, feedback, and personalised learning approaches
* Maintain and update training materials, contributing to modernising and improving training delivery
* Ensure compliance with KPIs, SLAs, and safety standards, and maintain a CPD portfolio
Essential Skills/Experience/Qualifications
* Minimum Level 3 Technical Certificate in an engineering discipline
* Proficiency in the use of IT (hardware/software) within the workplace
* Competent practical coppersmith/pipefitter hand skills
* Proven experience in workshop/industry principles
Desirable Skills/Experience/Qualifications
* Level 4 Teaching Qualification or Train The Trainer Course (or equivalent)
* Previous instructional experience in civilian engineering environment
