Purpose of the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a E&P Engineer (Electrical & Power) to join our expanding South Rail Systems Alliance work bank. Based from our Chelmsford office, you will support the delivery of key rail infrastructure projects across the Eastern region, contributing to the maintenance and renewal of critical UK rail assets.
This role is ideal for an E&P Engineer looking to develop their career further working on varied track focus portfolio including Switches & Crossings (S&C), Plain Line, Drainage, Level Crossings and Re-Rail projects. The engineer will work closely within a delivery team supporting the safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of rail renewal projects.
Open to applicants with Contractor's Responsible Engineer (CRE) experience. It's imperative the individual is wanting to lead on E&P portfolio demonstrating strong leadership and excellent team working behaviours.

Based in our Chelmsford Office you will work in the Eastern Region.
Key Responsibilities
What will I be doing?
• Promoting and maintaining high safety standards.
• Responsible for aspects of E&P portfolio of work from establishing scope meeting the client’s needs, design input and delivery including the path to Final Certificate and project close out.
• Working efficiently and in unison within a muti disciplined team.
Person Specification
What attributes and skills are we looking for?
• Extensive experience in E&P (Electrical & Power) engineering within the railway sector, at a CRE level.
• Proven ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary teams across both office and site-based environments.
• Demonstrable experience delivering E&P projects independently, ensuring successful outcomes.
• Ability to work effectively under tight timescales while maintaining high standards of quality and workmanship.
• Strong knowledge of Network Rail standards and a commitment to full compliance.
• Experience engaging with senior stakeholders, including Network Rail Route Asset Managers (RAM) and Maintenance representatives.
• Commercial awareness, with experience in procurement processes, subcontract management, and application of Minimum Viable Product (MVP) principles.
• Ability to collaborate with design teams, manage design scope, and ensure solutions are practical, deliverable, and aligned with client expectations.
• Flexible and adaptable approach to working patterns and responsibilities.
• Proactive commitment to health, safety, and safe delivery of all activities.
• Full UK driving license - Essential.
