An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Corporate Nursing and Integrated Governance Unit for a highly motivated and enthusiastic nurse to join the Quality and Patient Experience team. You will require commitment, passion and motivation in order to lead the team in delivery of high quality care. You will also need vision and excellent organisational skills. To succeed in the role you will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to enable you to work with varying groups including managers, clinicians and administrative colleagues as well as patients, carers and key stakeholders across the health and social care community. You will need to be able to demonstrate that you can lead and motivate a team alongside excellent time management skills as you will need to balance the demands of a very busy workload.

The post holder will work within the Quality and Patient Experience Improvement team which incorporates Patient Experience, Quality and Assurance, and Safer Care, preventing harms occurring whilst patients are in our care. The post holder will ensure that there is a continuous focus on the improvement of patient safety and experience. We know that the people who use our services are the true experts on how services should be delivered and developed. By listening and acting on peoples’ views and experiences we can improve our services for everyone who uses them. Detailed job description and main responsibilities
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
The post holder will:
6. Support the provision of high quality, safe and effective patient care and continuous improvement of the patient experience by providing effective, professional nurse leadership across the Trust.
7. Lead and facilitate in the Trust wide quality initiatives to achieve the Trust’s Quality strategy.
8. To support Corporate and Divisional Nursing & Midwifery, AHP and management teams to ensure trust objectives are met in relation to clinical quality and safety, workforce, service delivery, and financial control.
9. To promote a culture within the nursing and midwifery workforce which always acts in patients’ best interests wherever they attend the Trust.
10. To lead on Trust nursing initiatives, programmes of improvement and transformation which improve patient safety and outcomes.
11. Take a lead role for instigating, facilitating, implementing and monitoring change management initiatives as directed.
12. Ensure that patient experience information captured via a variety of methodologies including the Monthly iPad Surveys; National Patient Satisfaction Surveys; the Friends and Family Test Scores, Care Opinion, Compliments and Complaints, and Patient and Carer feedback leaflets, is managed and communicated to all levels of the organisation to ensure the patient voice is represented as a core feature of all Trust Business.
13. To lead on the Trust Accreditation programme to improve the quality of patient care whilst focusing on safe and effective outcomes.
14. Seek opportunities to expand and develop the programme.
15. To ensure accreditation standards are maintained in line with national and local requirements and recommendations and remain fit for purpose.
16. Support areas to progress / achieve the Blue TaGSTARS standard.
17. To be a highly visible, proactive, and accessible Quality and Patient Experience Matron, acting as a professional lead and expert nursing and quality resource.
18. Provide strong professional leadership, enabling and empowering Nurses and Midwives to develop practice in the development of high quality patient centred services.
19. Contribute to the development of evidence-based practice, strengthening the nursing contribution to care delivery, promoting a culture of lifelong learning, role development, critical thinking, practice development and innovation within the organisation.
20. Provide nursing leadership across a range of priorities to drive the development of staff and high quality patient care.
You will be expected to use a VDU often for prolonged periods to assist in your work.
