The Kitchen Assistant will support the culinary team with food preparation for the resorts food outlets including the Grab & Go and Halfway House. This role also involves ensuring that the kitchen and outlying areas are thoroughly cleaned and maintained to the highest standard at all times. The role operates on a shift-based system including evening and weekend working in line with the seasonal needs of the business. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Assist the Chefs with food preparation and service Ensure a consistently high level of food services at all times through knowledge of the menu items and awareness of commodities used, preparation, methods and cooking. Ensure that all breakages and spillages are immediately cleaned up to prevent accidents Assist with general cleaning of the kitchen ensuring that the cleaning schedule is adhered to and that the highest level of health and hygiene standards are met at all times in line with company guidelines Ensure compliance, as appropriate to your role with relevant health & safety and equality of opportunity legislation as well as best practice as set out in the Company policies and procedures Any other duties as reasonably directed by the Head Chef or other member of the management team Key Criteria and Skills: Current certificate in Basic Food Preparation, Health and Hygiene or similar Excellent communication skills Ability to work as part of a team Positive and flexible approach to work (weekend work will be required) Proof of eligibility to work in the United Kingdom
