Geotechnical Engineer – Watford
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Geotechnical Engineer to join a well-established, multidisciplinary engineering consultancy at its Watford office. This role offers the chance to work on a diverse range of projects across sectors including infrastructure, residential, commercial, and industrial developments.
The Role
You will be responsible for supporting and delivering geotechnical and geo-environmental assessments from initial site investigation through to design and reporting. The role involves both office-based analysis and site-based work, offering a balanced and engaging workload.
Key Responsibilities
Planning, supervising, and interpreting ground investigations
Producing factual and interpretative reports
Undertaking geotechnical design (foundations, earthworks, retaining structures)
Liaising with clients, contractors, and internal teams
Ensuring compliance with relevant standards and health & safety regulationsRequirements
Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, or a related field
Relevant experience in geotechnical engineering or ground investigation
Working knowledge of UK standards and guidance
Strong analytical and report-writing skills
Ability to manage time effectively and work both independently and as part of a teamDesirable
Progression towards chartership (ICE/GeolSoc or similar)
Experience with geotechnical software packages
