Role Overview
Barts Health NHS Trust seeks a substantive Consultant Gastroenterologist for a split-site role primarily based at Newham Hospital, with endoscopy sessions at The Royal London. The post focuses on inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), inpatient gastroenterology, and advanced lower GI endoscopy including EMR and ESD techniques.
At Newham, the successful candidate will contribute to inpatient care within the Gastroenterologist of the Week model and support outpatient IBD services. Participation in the out-of-hours GI bleed rota is required, but no GIM on-call commitment is necessary.
The interview date is scheduled for June 23rd, pending Royal College approval.
At The Royal London, the post involves delivering endoscopy procedures, participating in MDTs, and contributing to clinical governance, audit, and departmental development. Candidates with a special interest in IBD and advanced endoscopy are encouraged to apply.
