Overview

Tiptree Medical Centre has an opportunity for an enthusiastic and proactive receptionist to join our team on a full-time basis, for 35 hours per week.


Responsibilities

* Greeting and directing all patients.
* Making appointments.
* Answering queries and complaints from patients and outside agencies, signposting to the appropriate staff member as appropriate.
* Accepting, issuing and handing out prescriptions, letters, completed forms, specimen bottles, etc.
* Advising patients of practice procedures.
* Registering new patients.
* Accurately maintaining patient database and records, photocopying, filing and scanning.

The receptionist plays a pivotal role in the experience of patients at our practice, helping them to access the right services and dealing with their queries face-to-face, online and by telephone. General practice is a challenging environment that requires a calm and caring approach with the ability to work under pressure. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated team player who has customer service/patient experience and offers excellent communication skills.

We are a friendly, busy and innovative practice in north-east Essex. The team comprises two friendly, supportive partners and 7 salaried GPs. We have an excellent nursing team comprising 4 advanced nurse practitioners (ANPs), 1 paramedic, 4 practice nurses, 2 HCAs, 2 clinical pharmacists and 1 pharmacy technician.

We are an award-winning, semi-rural practice of approximately 12,000 patients, in Tiptree, North-East Essex. We are in an ideal location close to England's oldest town, Colchester, with nearby rail-links direct to London, and easy access to the east coast. We pride ourselves on being relaxed, with family-friendly and flexible working patterns. We strive to look after our employees as well as our patients, with generous annual leave, flexible and family friendly working, and support during difficult times such as free counselling. We also work as a collaborative primary care network alongside Mersea Island Medical Practice and Rowhedge Medical Centre.
