We have an exciting opportunity for a CIL and S106 Monitoring Officer within our Planning Policy team. Why choose Solihull? Our borough is thriving. About the role As part of the Planning Policy team, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the borough benefits from new development. Your work will involve monitoring development activity and managing the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) process to secure contributions that support local infrastructure. Key responsibilities include: Administering the Council’s CIL system. Identifying and monitoring progress of new development, including site visits. Calculating CIL liability and issuing invoices. Processing payments and maintaining accurate records. Responding to CIL-related queries. Updating land and building monitoring systems. Liaising with developers, stakeholders, and internal teams such as finance and legal. About you We’re looking for someone who is: Customer-focused, confident, and proactive with a can-do attitude. Able to work collaboratively and communicate effectively. Organised and detail-oriented. You’ll need: A minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grade A–C / 4–9) or equivalent. Ideally, experience or knowledge of local authority planning services, particularly CIL and/or development monitoring. This is an essential car user role. You will be required to travel across the borough to undertake site visits. Applicants must hold a valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
