Overview
To be an effective member of the BCSP Health Promotion team & service and to contribute to the development of new and existing health promotion projects, ensuring that a quality service is provided to all service users.
Be an integral part of a health promotion programme to improve uptake of the NHS BCSP within Cheshire and Merseyside. To support needs assessment and equity analyses, monitor uptake and identify areas or groups with low uptake. To support targeted health promotion and social marketing initiatives, including social marketing campaigns, to improve the uptake of the NHS BCSP amongst groups with low uptake. To work collaboratively with the Programme Hub to provide health promotion support to the roll out of the extended programme across the participating PCNs. To maintain professional competence and support that of other staff within the CFAKC Service. To support the Health Promotion Specialist in the development of performance management systems for the CFAKC and in particular to monitor the equity of uptake of screening. To support the evaluation of health promotion initiatives, identify areas for improvement and initiate change, where necessary, through analysis and interpretation of health information.
Responsibilities
* Co-ordinate engagement with local GP practices to facilitate CFAKC project in GP practices.
* Provide support to plan, organise, deliver and evaluate the CFAKC.
* Provide support to input/export data and to support evaluation of the CFAKC project.
* Work with public/health sector partners to plan and engage the voluntary, community and faith sector in promoting the uptake of the BCSP.
* Provide support to local communities to encourage grassroots participation in the BCSP.
* Keep up to date with latest policy developments, nationally and locally with regards to health and social care.
* Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the specific geographical area of work.
* Support initiatives in reducing health inequalities and barriers to screening, raise awareness of bowel cancer screening.
* Carry out needs assessment and equity analysis to identify areas and groups with low uptake and develop evidence-based interventions.
* Support development of social marketing materials and campaigns to maximise uptake among designated subgroups.
Qualifications
* (GCSE A to C) in English and Maths or equivalent
* Graduate education or equivalent in Health & Social Care or applicable academic subject
* Level 2 in IT (ITQ, ECDL or equivalent)
* Minimum NVQ level 3 in Community Engagement or equivalent; experience in multi-agency settings and partnership working
* Experience in administration and in leading work in a community setting
* Experience with data inputting and producing reports from spreadsheets/databases
* Experience in pulling together information for marketing materials
* Experience in providing admin support for training and events
* Knowledge of BCSP issues and potential barriers to engagement
* Excellent IT literacy across Microsoft Office and information systems
* Excellent customer care, communication skills (written and oral), and ability to work autonomously
* Flexibility, prioritisation, attention to detail and ability to travel within Merseyside and Cheshire
* A positive, collaborative attitude and ability to work with diverse communities

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people and may be subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020; a DBS disclosure may be necessary.
