Salary: £53,000 - 93,000 per year Requirements: We require proven experience in telecoms field engineering, including installation, commissioning, and maintenance of DC chargers, SDH/PDH, microwave radio, and IP networking systems. We require strong knowledge of LAN/WAN networking, MPLS, routing and switching, with hands-on experience of Cisco and Alcatel products. We require the ability to test, fault-find, and maintain telecoms infrastructure including fibre, pilot cables, IP telephony, and utility communication systems. We require a full UK driving licence and the ability to work independently, travel to sites, and operate within high-voltage substation environments. We require excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills with a positive attitude and a commitment to health and safety standards. Responsibilities: We deliver field engineering installation, commissioning, maintenance, and 1st line support activities across strategic telecoms and IP networks within utility environments. We ensure all projects and maintenance tasks are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in line with client quality standards. We install, configure, test, and troubleshoot telecoms and networking equipment including Cisco, Alcatel, SDH, PDH, MPLS, radio, and IP telephony systems. We complete project documentation, risk assessments, test records, maintenance reports, and communicate progress updates to project engineers and stakeholders. We provide 24x7x365 support and routine maintenance activities, responding promptly to faults, outages, and service requests while meeting SLA targets. This is an outside IR35 day-rate role paying £200-225 per day.
