The role of Buyer – Facilities & Maintenance – involves managing procurement across a £48 million spend portfolio, ensuring alignment with clinical needs and business objectives while driving cost efficiency and quality.
Responsibilities
* Support the Facilities & Maintenance Category Manager in all spend areas.
* Identify and pursue innovation opportunities with internal stakeholders.
* Manage supplier relationships, track KPIs and conduct quarterly reviews.
* Own smaller spend categories within F&M, collaborating with the Category Manager.
* Maintain contract end/renewal dates and coordinate with legal to implement a contracts register.
* Analyze volume‑value reports to confirm contract benefits.
* Prepare ITT and RFI documentation and run tenders via the eProcurement platform.
* Assist in project‑level procurement from specification to contract award.
* Compile and maintain product catalogues in the ERP system.
* Support rationalisation and standardisation activities to deliver savings.
* Track savings and quality benefits using internal reporting tools.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Buyer in a fast‑paced environment.
* Track record of managing multiple procurement projects simultaneously.
* Strong collaboration skills with cross‑functional teams.
* Experience in supplier relationship management and performance monitoring.
* Exposure to tendering processes including ITT and RFI documentation.
* Knowledge of healthcare or clinical procurement.
* Understanding of procurement principles and practices.
* Familiarity with ERP systems and eProcurement platforms.
Other Requirements
* Flexibility to work varying hours and locations as per contract.
* Willingness to travel to Borehamwood office and other sites.
* Availability for meetings and events outside normal hours.
