Job Description:
A leading name within the Energy and Resources sector is looking to appoint a Legal Counsel to be the go-to expert for all matters relating to cybersecurity across Europe. Partnering closely with regional and global legal teams, the key responsibilities will be as follows:
* Provide strategic legal advice on cybersecurity issues affecting operations in Europe.
* Monitor and interpret relevant laws and regulations; advise on compliance strategies.
* Develop and maintain practical legal frameworks, policies, and standard clauses for cybersecurity.
* Advise on and support real-time response to cybersecurity incidents and product vulnerabilities.
* Collaborate with global and regional legal teams, technical cybersecurity teams, and business units.
* Guide negotiation of cybersecurity-related clauses in commercial contracts.
* Support internal audits and regulatory reviews related to cybersecurity.
* Manage external counsel as required.
* Contribute to key legal projects within the global digital legal function.
About You
* Qualified lawyer with strong experience in cybersecurity or technology law.
* Deep understanding of EU and international cybersecurity regulations and frameworks.
* Experience advising on legal responses to cyber incidents is highly desirable.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills across legal and technical audiences.
* Ability to manage complex, cross-border legal matters.
* Data privacy experience is welcome, but this role is cybersecurity focused.
