Owls After School Club Assistant Manager – The Grammar School at Leeds
Job Description
Are you an experienced childcare professional looking for a leadership role in a thriving and supportive school environment? We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic Assistant Manager to join our after-school care team, GSAL Owls, supporting children aged 3–11. In this role, you\'ll help to run our after-school provision day to day, stepping in for the Owls Manager when needed. You\'ll be part of a friendly team who create fun, safe, and engaging activities for children, while also helping them feel happy and supported. You\'ll also play a role in encouraging positive behaviour, meeting children\'s individual needs, and following EYFS guidelines.
In addition, you\'ll spend time supporting our early years colleagues in the classroom, especially at lunchtime or when cover is needed. Building strong relationships with children, parents, and carers will be at the heart of what you do.
Responsibilities
* Help run the after-school provision on a day-to-day basis and cover the Owls Manager when required.
* Create a safe, fun, and engaging environment with age-appropriate activities for children aged 3–11.
* Support positive behaviour, meet children\'s individual needs, and follow EYFS guidelines.
* Support early years colleagues in the classroom and at lunchtime or when cover is needed.
* Build strong relationships with children, parents, and carers.
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3 (or above) in early years or equivalent.
* Paediatric first aid training and food hygiene training (or willingness to complete).
* Experience of leading or supporting a team is desirable.
Salary and Conditions
Salary: GSAL point 21, £28,817 FTE; point 24 £30,316 FTE (dependent on experience). Actual salary £23,545.73 – £24,770.53. Hours: 37.5 per week, term time only plus 8 additional days. Contract: Permanent. Location: GSAL, Alwoodley Gates, Harrogate Road, Leeds LS17 8GS. Closing date: 24 September 2025 at 9:00 AM. Interviews: 1 October.
