GSL Education are searching for a motivated Design and Technology (DT) Teacher to work in schools across Barnsley, delivering high-quality lessons that develop students’ technical understanding, creativity, and problem-solving abilities. In this role, you will plan and deliver structured lessons that support pupils in designing, making, and evaluating projects, while ensuring a safe and productive workshop environment. About the role: As a Design and Technology Teacher, you will play a key role in developing students’ practical skills and creative thinking. You will encourage innovation while helping learners apply theory to hands-on, real-world tasks. Core responsibilities: Deliver well-planned Design and Technology lessons aligned with the curriculum Support pupils in designing, developing, and evaluating their projects Promote safe use of tools, equipment, and materials Encourage creativity, independence, and problem-solving Maintain strong classroom behaviour and a structured learning environment Assess pupil progress and provide clear, constructive feedback What we are looking for: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification Experience working as Design and Technology Teacher in a school setting Strong knowledge of workshop safety and practical materials Excellent classroom management skills Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice To work with GSL Education, you should Have the right to work in the UK Provide an up-to-date CV with relevant references Have an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one If you are a passionate Design and Technology Teacher ready to inspire learners in Barnsley, we welcome your application.
