School Catering Assistant - Wirral
Rate: £16.25 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00am - 2:00pm

We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and experienced School Catering Assistant to join a school based in Wirral. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a school kitchen or a similar catering environment and be confident supporting the smooth running of a busy lunchtime service.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with the preparation of meals in line with school menus and dietary requirements.
* Serve food to pupils and staff during lunchtime.
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness across the kitchen and dining areas.
* Operate kitchen equipment safely and follow all food hygiene guidelines.
* Assist with washing up, clearing down, and general kitchen duties.
* Support the catering team to ensure mealtimes run efficiently and safely.
Requirements
* Previous kitchen or catering experience, preferably in a school or similar setting (essential).
* Willingness to obtain a DBS certificate (essential).
* Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate preferred (not mandatory).
* Ability to work well in a team and remain calm during busy periods.
* Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards.
