Overview
You’re an Associate Structural Engineer who wants to take full ownership—of projects, teams, and client relationships. You’re already leading work, but you want a broader platform to influence delivery, shape teams, and contribute to business growth. At Stantec, you’ll join a growing Structural Engineering team in Glasgow or Edinburgh, leading complex building projects across the UK. You’ll work within a multidisciplinary environment alongside Civil, MEP, Environmental, Energy and Water teams, giving you the scope to operate beyond your discipline and play a key role in integrated project delivery.
About The Role
You will lead the delivery of structural engineering projects from concept through to construction, maintaining oversight of technical quality, programme, and commercial performance. You’ll ensure that design solutions are robust, coordinated, and aligned with client expectations, while driving consistency across your team’s outputs.
You’ll take responsibility for managing teams—allocating resources, overseeing performance, and supporting development—while maintaining a clear view of project delivery across multiple schemes. This includes managing change control, ensuring compliance with governance processes, and maintaining control over budgets and programme.
Alongside delivery, you’ll play an active role in client engagement and business development. You’ll manage key relationships, contribute to bids and proposals, and help ensure a consistent pipeline of work. Your role will also include contributing to wider team and business initiatives, supporting continuous improvement and innovation across the group.
Your Impact
You’ll influence how projects are delivered at both a technical and strategic level. From shaping design approaches to ensuring commercial performance, your role will directly impact project success across sectors including education, healthcare, residential, commercial and energy.
Internally, you’ll contribute to building team capability—developing engineers, strengthening delivery processes, and supporting a high-performing, collaborative environment. Externally, you’ll help grow the business through client relationships and work-winning, playing a key role in the continued expansion of the team in Scotland and across the UK.
