Job Opportunity: Production Manager at Bespoke Food Manufacturer
Venatu Recruitment is proud to announce a vacancy for a Production Manager at a leading high-quality, bespoke food manufacturer based in Bicester. Established for over 30 years, the company prides itself on quality and excellence. Due to growth, they seek a Production Manager to oversee manufacturing processes from concept to launch.
The ideal candidate has a background as a Chef and has progressed to or worked as a Production Manager within the premium, branded restaurant sector.
This is a full-time role offering £45k - £55k DOE, with a 40-hour workweek from 7AM to 4PM, Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure production schedules align with customer demand, budget, and quality standards.
2. Coordinate staff and raw materials for smooth daily operations and new product launches.
3. Maintain product standards as per customer requirements.
4. Develop and monitor operational performance metrics in collaboration with the Operations Director.
5. Improve processes and procedures through continuous improvement techniques.
6. Lead and motivate the production team, ensuring adequate staffing and training.
7. Conduct regular team meetings and reviews to set targets and identify training needs.
8. Participate in audits, ensuring compliance with procedures and legislation.
9. Ensure the facility meets all legal, technical, and hygiene standards.
10. Liaise with maintenance to ensure equipment functionality.
11. Work collaboratively within the team to support business goals.
12. Keep management informed of opportunities and risks through meetings.
Candidate Requirements:
* Degree or equivalent in Food Science, Operations, or Engineering.
* At least 2 years' experience as a Production Manager.
* Background as a Chef, ideally from a premium, branded restaurant.
* Ability to analyze data for decision-making.
* Motivated, results-oriented, and solution-driven.
* Strong communication skills to articulate vision and goals.
* Knowledge of food safety legislation (Food Safety Level 3).
* Proficiency with CCP, HACCP, and Salsa principles.
* Self-motivated and capable of working independently and within a team.
* Ability to manage and motivate a diverse workforce in a demanding environment.
