Hydraulics Systems Engineer - Our client is at the forefront of innovative Marine engineering, specialising in the design, optimisation, and supply of decarbonisation solutions for the maritime industry. With expertise in wing propulsion, foiling, and flight control systems, they are leading the sustainability revolution within the maritime and shipping industry. Their work includes reducing fuel consumption on ocean-going ships through sail technology and advanced efficiency optimisation methods, as well as enabling marine electrification with foiling and FOSS solutions.
They are looking for a Hydraulic Systems Engineer to join their team and work alongside the Lead Hydraulic Systems Engineer. Your role will be instrumental in the design, validation, and testing of hydraulic systems for a wide range of state-of-the-art projects.
Hydraulics System Engineer Role:
* Collaborate with a small, dynamic team of engineers to develop systems for the commercial, leisure, and shipping sectors of the Marine Industry.
* Design and specify hydraulic systems, producing schematics, 3D models, and manufacturing drawings of manifolds and other components.
* Produce documentation and calculations to support designs.
* Model hydraulic systems with Simcenter Amesim for validation.
* Develop and test hydraulic systems.
* Manage supplier selection and coordination.
* Provide commissioning and technical support for vessels.
* Produce supporting documentation and calculations for designs.
Requirements:
* Higher education in Fluid Power, Mechanical, Electrical, Control Systems, or related fields.
* NFPC (or equivalent) Hydraulics Training (training can be provided for suitable candidates).
* Strong understanding of industrial and mobile hydraulic systems and components.
* Knowledge of mechanical systems.
* Experience with CAD design, preferably Siemens NX.
* Experience creating hydraulic schematics.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
* Ability to work safely and effectively with hands-on tasks.
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
* Strong communication skills for conveying complex technical concepts.
* Willingness to travel.
* Experience with Simcenter Amesim software is an advantage.
* Knowledge of marine industry standards, classification societies, electrical systems, or PLC systems is desirable.
* EPlan ECAD experience is desirable but training can be provided.
