The Role:

We are seeking an experienced, highly organised, proactive Exams Manager to lead and manage the examinations function across our Havering 6th Form, Ardleigh Green and Rainham Construction & Engineering Sites. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to play a key role in delivering an outstanding exams service that supports student achievement and upholds the highest standards of compliance.

Working under the direction of the Group Head of Exams, you will be responsible for overseeing the effective administration, planning and delivery of all external examinations. You will lead a team of dedicated exams staff, ensuring smooth coordination and adherence to awarding body regulations, JCQ guidelines, and college policies.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead, manage, and support a team of exams staff across multiple college sites.
* Ensure the efficient planning, organisation, and delivery of examinations in line with awarding body regulations.
* Maintain compliance with JCQ and internal policies, safeguarding examination integrity at all times.
* Oversee key exam periods including entries, timetabling, rooming, invigilation, results, and post-results services.
* Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders including curriculum staff, estates teams, and senior managers to ensure a smooth whole-college approach to exams.
* Advise curriculum teams on regulations, entries, results processes, and malpractice procedures.
* Uphold a culture of continuous improvement and high standards within the Exams team.

What We’re Looking For

* Extensive experience in exam administration or education operations, ideally in a Further Education environment.
* Proven leadership and people management skills.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise under pressure.
* Strong attention to detail and understanding of data protection and compliance requirements.
* A collaborative communicator, able to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
* Excellent communicator, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and confidently to a range of stakeholders, including staff, students, and external awarding bodies.
