Transport Planning Manager
Location: Essex
Salary: GBP35,000 - GBP40,000
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
The Role
* Taking full ownership of transport planning and execution across multiple sites
* Managing the receipt and processing of customer orders, ensuring accuracy and clear communication around deliveries
* Planning and coordinating third-party and dedicated haulage requirements
* Acting as the first point of contact for all transport-related issues, resolving delays or disruptions proactively
* Maintaining live visibility of vehicle movements and responding quickly to issues as they arise
* Communicating closely with internal teams and customers to manage expectations and service levels
* Planning and coordinating inter-site stock movements, including booking delivery slots and arranging haulage
* Maintaining and updating the central transport and logistics planning systems
* Driving best practice across transport operations, with a strong focus on efficiency, service, and cost control
* Building and maintaining strong relationships with hauliers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
About You
* Proven experience in transport planning, logistics coordination, or haulage management
* Confidence working in a fast-moving, customer-facing supply chain environment
* Strong organisational and planning skills, with exceptional attention to detail
* Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to manage a wide range of stakeholders
* A proactive, solutions-driven approach and the ability to anticipate and mitigate issues
* Strong IT skills, including Excel and Microsoft Office
* Experience with transport management or ERP systems (e.g. TMS, SAP) - highly desirable
* The ability to remain calm under pressure and juggle multiple priorities effectively
